When you sign up for a health insurance plan using HealthBird, you’ll get a confirmation email in minutes. This plan confirmation will include your new insurance’s effective date, so you’ll know exactly when you can start using it.
Plans are effective starting either the 1st or the 15th of each month, depending on when you sign up. For example, if you were to enroll in a new plan on September 16th, your coverage would become active on October 1st. However, if you had enrolled just one day earlier on September 15th, your coverage would start that very same day. In other words, when your insurance kicks in depends on when you enroll, but the longest you’ll have to wait is two weeks.
